Space and Place in European Cinema
2015 European Cinema Research Forum Annual Conference

The 15th European Cinema Research Forum invites proposals exploring any aspect of space and place in European cinema. Contributions from the realm of practice-based research are particularly welcome.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the practice or representation of space and place in European cinema in relation to questions of:
- Architecture and environment
- Genders, sexualities and/or ethnicities
- National/transnational cinemas
- Film aesthetics and the production of place
- Film production/technologies and/or media policy
- Soundscapes
- Changing spaces of reception/exhibition
Proposals may be in the form of an abstract for an individual paper or a panel suggestion (3×20 minute papers).
Please send abstracts (individual paper max. 200 words; panel max. 400 words) accompanied by a short bio-bibliography (max. 150 words per presenter) to Dr Conn Holohan conn.holohan@nuigalway.ie
Abstract deadline: February 20th 2015.
Please note: selected conference proceedings will be published in a Special Issue of the peer-reviewed journal, Studies in European Cinema (Taylor and Francis).
