From the editors of Estudios Irlandeses
The editors would like to invite contributions for the annual 2014 Estudios Irlandeses review of Irish Film and TV. We’re now in our 9th year and have, during that period, developed a high quality, ‘first draft’ analysis of Irish film and TV from a range of perspectives including single film reviews, discussion of shifting industry policies and practices, Irish language production, short essays on distribution/exhibition practices, star studies, genres and emerging trends in film, TV and non-traditional audio visual formats.
As we move towards compiling a decade of reviews we welcome a wide a range of submissions, 1500-2000 words, on themes and titles relating to 2014, due by March 1st at the latest. Essays should be mindful of relevant academic discourse.
Possible topics include TV drama in English or Irish, experimental practices, short films, feature films . . . incl: Calvary, Love Eternal, The Stag, Gold, Out of Here, The Canal, Noble, Run and Jump, Living in a Coded Land, Frank, An Brontannas, Corp + Anam . . .
