The 15th European Cinema Research Forum invites proposals exploring any aspect of space and place in European cinema. Contributions from the realm of practice-based research are particularly welcome.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the practice or representation of space and place in European cinema in relation to questions of:

  • Architecture and environment
  • Genders, sexualities and/or ethnicities
  • National/transnational cinemas
  • Film aesthetics and the production of place
  • Film production/technologies and/or media policy
  • Soundscapes
  • Changing spaces of reception/exhibition

Proposals may be in the form of an abstract for an individual paper or a panel suggestion (3×20 minute papers).

Please send abstracts (individual paper max. 200 words; panel max. 400 words) accompanied by a short bio-bibliography (max. 150 words per presenter) to Dr Conn Holohan

Abstract deadline:    February 20th 2015.

Please note: selected conference proceedings will be published in a Special Issue of the peer-reviewed journal, Studies in European Cinema (Taylor and Francis).
