Details here.
The Diagrams Symposium brings together artists, architects, visual art theorists, new media designers and philosophers to discuss the diagram as an aid to data visualization. It provides a platform for international specialists on the diagram to speak about its characteristics as a sketching tool for realizing an idea or as a mapping tool for networking relations in space. The presentations will consider the diagram in terms of how it can provide artists with a way of creating narratives about the material process of production of their work and how this can offer a means for structuring documentation and dissemination via online media platforms.
The symposium takes place alongside the Diagrams Show, a group exhibition of newly commissioned diagrams at Dublin Pallas Projects from September 10th to 19th. This will provide the context for the symposium presentations to discuss how the encounter with diagrams can create the narratives for the enactment of subjectivity.
